I'm not sure I...Definitely food for thought. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with a partner whose main focus was climbing the corporate ladder. BF has always been a very practical person, and I don't really see him in an office. Right now he makes less than I do, but that's a first, and it's likely to change. He's much better at negotiating, etc, too.<br /><br />That "competitive" factor is also why I'd never go out with anyone in the same line of work as me. <br /><br />While he's much more of a spender than I am (materialistic, I guess) money is much more important to me. It means stability and freedom. So I'll probably always be the one to manage our finances, and I think that's what he wants.<br /><br />The good thing is I don't think our financial expectations are worlds apart. Realistically, I'd be stoked if we cracked $100k.<br /><br />Oh, and I'm in editorial too...on just under $20/h base. Nonprofit or not, it ain't a lucrative field. OTOH, I work weekends, when I get double time...and plan to do so as long as I can hack it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
